Maryland borders the District of Columbia, which is the capital of the United States. Maryland also borders Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. So there are plenty of things to see and do in and around Maryland... Here are just a few places within a short drive from Baltimore:
GETTYSBURG, PA Historical Gettysburg is the site of the Battle of Gettysburg fought during the Civil War on the United States. The battle lasted over two days and left over 7,800 Union and Confederate soldiers dead. For more info on Gettysburg and all of its attractions, click here. BALTIMORE INNER HARBOR Baltimore's Inner Harbor is one of the main attractions in Baltimore because of its shops and places to eat, not to mention the view. Our ceremony will take place nearby at Fells Point; it's only a short water taxi ride away. For more info on the Inner Harbor, click here, or here. WASHINGTON, DC As the Capital of the United States, Washington has more history and culture than you can shake a stick at. Museums, Theaters, and Memorial Sites are just a few of the things you can visit in "DC" (dee-cee). Washington has great public transportation, which we encourage instead of driving while you visit. For more information, click here. LOCH RAVEN RESERVOIR Do you like to run or hike on a trail? Loch Raven reservoir is a large water reservoir in Baltimore County just minutes outside of Baltimore. It is large and gives you the feeling of being out in the country instead of minutes away from a large city. For more information, click here. CHARLES TOWN, WVA Like to gamble? You're in luck. Charles Town, West Virginia is home to the famous Charles Town Races and Slots. You can take in the horse races as well. Or, you can do what we do, enjoy the rather large buffet they offer. | SIX FLAGS AMERICA Just outside of Washington, south of Baltimore, Six Flags America is an amusement park with tons of things to see and do. For more information, click here. SPORTING EVENTS During the “wedding weekend” there will also be several sporting events in the area. So if you want to drop off the husband, feel free!
